Toy Fox Terriers - Appearance
Toy Fox Terriers have lithe, muscular body with an elegant outline. The scull is moderate in size, slightly rounded. The expression of the muzzle is intelligent, eager and full of interest. The eyes are dark and round. The V-shaped ears are erect, pointed and set high. The nose of a purebred Toy Fox Terrier is black with the exception of self-colored in chocolate dogs. A healthy Toy Fox Terrier has white strong teeth; loss of teeth should not be faulted if the bite is correct. This dog proudly carries the neck and the tail. The tail is docked short and carried high. The feet are small and oval with deep pads. The coat is smooth, shiny, and slightly longer in the ruff.
Color: Tri-color variations: body is over 50% white, black or chocolate head, tan spots; bi-color variations: body is over 50% white with black or chocolate head and spots.
Weight: 3.5-7 pounds (1.5-3 kg).
Size: 9-11 inches preferred, 8.5-11.5 acceptable.
Proportions: Toy Fox Terriers are square in proportion, with height equal to length. Bone should be strong, but not excessive. Overall balance is important.
Life expectancy: About 13-15 years.
Grooming: These dogs practically don't shed, occasional combing, brushing and nail trimming is enough for Toy Fox Terriers.
